Tubeless Conversion for a WTB Rim with a Drop Channel

WTB rims have a large rectangular drop channel in the center of the rim. A tubeless conversion is possible using Caffelatex products but additional supplies are required. A customer did a little experiment using his rims and a Heavy Duty Caffelatex Conversion Kit; the steps outlined yielded successful results. A special thank you to Travis!

Pro Team LUNA Chix has chosen Caffélatex as their official tire sealant supplier for 2010. Team mechanic Chris Mathis says that since using Caffelatex the team has not had a single flat tire. Ernesto Marenchin, the mountain pro rider for Speedgoat, races into 2010 with Caffelatex and Connex chains by Wippermann sponsorship. An ideal combination for a successful 2010 season. Marenchin found himself on 3 podiums while using Caffelatex in 2009. Marenchin is adding Connex chains by Wippermann to the mix this year, to alleviate any and all worries "about [the] chain 23 hours into a 24 hour solo event." Since Wippermann's Connex chains have the highest breaking load and longest wearing chain in the industry.
