Guitar Ted of the Cyclist (and TwentyNineInches.com) has a First Impression of CaffeLatex, a new tire sealant from Effetto Mariposa.
Guitar Ted said, "Apparently I had a puncture in this tire I was unaware of and the Caffelatex sealed it almost immediately after I installed it. Impressive. So that is a good start." He is going to run it for a few months and then give us his full thoughts. You can read his full first impression thoughts at his website the Cyclist (and at twentynineinches.com).
CaffeLatex is a sealant for road and mountain tubeless tires and also provides puncture protection for conventional tubed tires.
The biggest difference between CaffeLatex and standard latex-based sealants is a foaming agent, that’s activated by wheel movement. Centrifugal force drives standard latex-based sealants against the outer circumference of the tire. CaffeLatex foaming action causes it to fill the tire’s entire internal cavity making it much more effective against sidewall punctures. It also makes setting up tubeless tires much easier.
CaffeLatex repairs punctures up to 6mm (MTB) and 3mm (Road), and is ideal for MTB and road tubeless, tubular, and standard tires. CafféLatex™ has absolutely no ammonia and is 100% tire and rim friendly.
