Description
Customer Reviews
Our chain ring wear indicator allows you to check whether you need to replace the chain ring or the sprocket to protect your chain. It is fast and simple to use and compatible with all geared drive chain rings and sprockets conforming to the standards. If there's a gap between the indicator and the chainring, you're good to go. If it sits between the teeth with no gap, it's time to replace the chainring.

Great tool!
What a terrific little tool!! I read Jim Langely's review in Road Bike Rider and ordered one. Easy to use and accurate. Unfortunately, I managed to lose it, hoping it will turn up soon. Highly recommend!

Works well with chainrings, but not of much value on cassettes, which is the predominant drivetrain these days, because of the variations in tooth wells to improve shifting. Still on your own there.

Basement Bike Mechanic
Great little addition to my toolbox. Have tested on a number of known good, marginal, and bad chainrings and it has proved accurate. Takes my subjectivity out of it. Now we just need a good cassette gauge - Rohloff is too conservative - calls out cassettes that still have much life.

Doesn't work
I used this on several chain rings. This incliludes on that is new. The gauge indicates they all need replacing. I wouldn't bother buying it.
