Tappabuco - 1.5 KIT includes a tire plug tool
and five 1.5mm plugs. The Tappabuco system is ideal for repairing punctures in
tubeless tires road and gravel bike tires. When not in use, the plug tool works as end-plug for road and
mountain bike handlebars, it can be carried inside most Shimano and SRAM bottom
brackets too (it fits holes with inner diameter between 15 and 20 mm).
Tire plugs have become
a standard way of fixing bigger punctures in tubeless tires. With “Tappabuco”
(Italian for hole plugger) Effetto Mariposa offers a practical
solution for road and off-road riding that’s easy to carry and fast to use.
Easy to carry
Tire plug tools,
because of their sharp shape, should be stored safely. Tappabuco is designed to
work as end-plug for road and mountain bike handlebars, and it can be carried
inside most Shimano and SRAM bottom brackets too (it will fit holes with inner
diameter between 15 and 20 mm). You can keep the plug already loaded in
the tool to enable fast puncture repair.
IMPORTANT: Depending on
the internal surface of the handlebar, it could be easier or more difficult to
remove Tappabuco. Before you set off, try
extracting Tappabuco after inserting it into your handlebar. If it’s too
difficult to remove easily, by hand, lubricate the internal surface of the handlebar so that you can
remove the tool easily and repair punctures quickly.
Why a 1.5mm tool? Bigger, more common 3.5 mm plugs are great for bigger punctures on
mtb tires, but a 1,5 mm plug is often for smaller damage on road and gravel
tires. having both available is simply better. The bad reputation of 1.5 mm
plugs is due to the common mistake of using these small plugs with big plug
tool; they open the hole more than size of the plug. The tiny, dedicated 1.5mm Tappabuco
plug tool prevents this occurrence.
The Tappabuco plug tool is made of high density
silicone with a stainless steel fork, for maximum durability and adaptability.
Weight is just 11gm for Tappabuco 1.5.
